Challenge Overview

Now more than ever taking care of our health is important.  So we’re challenging our church members, families, friends, and surrounding communities to take charge of their health and wellness.  We really want to encourage families to get healthier together, which is why the challenge is open to adults and teens.  This is a “healthy competition” between Agape Family Worship Center (AFWC) and Abundant Life Family Worship Church (ALFWC).  We are seeking holistic transformation by focusing on spirit, soul and body.

People can register for the challenge through July 31, 2020 and form teams in order to maximize the experience and boost their points.  The challenge starts August 2 and ends September 15.  Participants will choose a goal in each category (mind, body, and spirit) that challenges them and select the appropriate level (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) they want to pursue.  Each week participants will report on their goal achievements and will have opportunities throughout the challenge to participate in weekly fitness classes, health & wellness workshops, and mini activity challenges.  You will receive points for participating in all activities and prizes will be awarded to the winners on 3 levels:  church, team, and individual.

We are committed to driving greater awareness and education on various health care diseases that impact diverse communities, with special emphasis on diabetes and prediabetes, while teaching people healthier habits to incorporate in their daily lives.  The challenge will help you live your best, healthiest life!

Message from the American Diabetes Association

Challenge Participants,

Thank you and congratulations for taking this first step into your Wellness Reset! We are proud and honored to partner with Agape Family Worship Center and Abundant Life Family Worship Church on this exciting initiative and hope that each of you finds your own motivational path during what has been a unique and challenging time for all of us.

Healthy living can only be truly obtained through a holistic approach, meaning that the parts cannot exist without relation to the whole. Physical activity without a balanced nutrition plan or spiritual guidance simply cannot lead you to your best, healthiest life!

Out of an abundance of care for each of you, the team at Agape and Abundant Life have partnered with the American Diabetes Association to amplify the message that holistic wellness is the most impactful way to transformation. Together, through the support of Novo Nordisk, we have been working for months to create a hearty, robust program that we hope will change your lives in whatever way you need.

We promise throughout this journey that you’ll learn, laugh, spend quality family time together, inspire others, and embrace the new you!

In Mind, Body & Spirit,

Lauren Grosz
